Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed the news that the Kinloss-based Wooha Brewery which went into administration at the end of March has been bought out by a major brewing company who already produce their own iconic brands.
Douglas Ross said: “I’m really pleased that this locally based but internationally successful brand has been rescued.
“North Coast Brewing who have taken over, have a strong base to be able to take the Wooha brand forward and I will do everything I can to assist them in the future.
“Although I understand it will be bitter-sweet for those people who lost their jobs, I very much welcome the news that the new parent company have already started to recruit staff for their Kinloss site.
“This is really good news for the local area and for Moray as a whole. Hopefully as they grow, and build on their reputation as brewers, there will be further potential for more employment.
“And as Wooha previously operated from a bespoke facility in Kinloss, I very much look forward to hearing that brewing is underway there again and toasting their future success and seeing new growth of the company.”
