Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed an announcement by NHS Grampian that Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin is set to benefit from a £1.7million worth of infrastructure and maintenance investment.
Commenting, Douglas said: “The money being spent on the maternity, Renal units and Ward 7 is badly needed to bring these facilities up to scratch and I’m glad the NHS Board has approved this spend and I welcome this vital investment.
“However, it’s all very well adding a new birthing room and facilities for the labour suite, but since we still don’t have a full maternity service up and running, that must remain the top priority.
“Investment like this is long overdue, but we must continue to fight to return critical services to Dr Gray’s so local people can once again get the medical attention they need here in Moray.”
