Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed the announcement that a new Post Office branch is set to open in Mosstodloch, within a matter of weeks.
Douglas said: “This is really good news for the local community, who have had to travel to Fochabers or Lhanbryde, which meant those without transport having to catch a bus or taxi to access a Post Office counter.
“There used to be a Post Office in the village, but it closed some time ago and local residents have been without a dedicated service since then.
“I hope people use this new service which is due to open its doors on Tuesday, 24th March, at the Mosstodloch Service Station. By ensuring the service is well used, we can help to maintain this important facility in Mosstodloch.”
Local Councillor Marc Macrae (Fochabers Lhanbryde) added –
“This is very welcome news indeed for Mosstodloch coming at time when many smaller communities are losing services.
“As the village continues to grow with new housing developments, some in the pipeline and some already under construction, this facility will save residents considerable time and effort having to travel to Fochabers or Lhanbryde to obtain Post Office services or products.”
