Commenting after a successful series of meetings and a reception at Dover House, home of the Scotland Office in London, Scottish Conservative MP for Moray Douglas Ross said:
“This was an important series of meetings to get key stakeholders involved in the Moray Growth Deal into the heart of Government to further press the case for this ambitious and transformative plan for our area.
“I was delighted to secure meetings at Number 11 Downing Street with the Treasury and at the Ministry of Defence headquarters with Secretary of State for Defence, Gavin Williamson. We also heard the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Liz Truss, speak so positively about the deal when we were at the Scotland Office.
“There is still work to do with both the Scottish Government and UK Government, but there is certainly a positive feeling following the meetings held in Westminster with the team behind the Moray Growth Deal. With the backing of both our governments I’m certain we can have a positive outcome in the not too distant future.”
