Moray MP Douglas Ross has been elected chairman of the Boys’ Brigade All Party Parliamentary Group.
Douglas said: “I am honoured to be the new chairman, especially since we have such a strong tradition of the Boys’ Brigade in Moray. In my new role I hope to raise the profile of the organisation further at Westminster and beyond.
“In Moray I have been a keen supporter of our BB units, highlighting at every opportunity the successes of our various companies. I had the privilege last year to speak to the company in Forres, attend a fundraiser for the Lossiemouth company and welcome a large group from Buckie with their leaders to Westminster.
“The Boys’ Brigade nationally offer so many opportunities for young people and that is why I will do my best in my role as Chairman of the APPG to promote the organisation as widely as I can.”
Bill Stevenson, BB Chief Executive, added: “I am delighted that Douglas is the new chair our All Party Parliamentary Group. He has been a great supporter of the Boys Brigade in Moray and I am sure this appointment will help us raise our profile at Westminster. The Brigade continues to be a great force for good across the UK and it is important that we continue to make parliamentarians aware of all our activities.”
