Moray MP Douglas Ross has highlighted the work being done at RAF Lossiemouth by local construction firm Robertson’s, who he praised during a Defence statement in the House of Commons today.
Douglas said: “I was delighted to be able to take this opportunity to highlight the excellent work being done by Robertson Construction at RAF Lossiemouth as a result of the huge investment by the UK Government in Moray.
“I was very pleased to hear Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson state the work being undertaken by the firm at RAF Lossiemouth was worthy of special recognition. It is great to see a local firm so heavily involved in this significant investment in Moray and doing such an impressive job.”
Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP said: “I’d very much like to congratulate Robertson’s for the work they are doing. We are making a £400 million investment in RAF Lossiemouth, which is the largest of its kind anywhere in the United Kingdom. “
“I know Douglas Ross has fought hard in order to get this level of investment in his constituency. But this isn’t just about creating armed forces jobs in Moray, it also has the wide-ranging benefit to the whole economy that brings prosperity to the whole region.”
Douglas added: “The whole Moray community welcomes the increase of service personnel and their families to the area and the arrival of the Poseidon aircraft at RAF Lossiemouth with all the economic benefits this will bring.”
