Moray MP Douglas Ross was pleased to lend his support to Macmillan Cancer Support’s latest campaign when he joined hundreds of fellow MPs at a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning reception in UK Parliament.
Douglas said: “I was really happy to add my support at the launch of Macmillan Cancer Support’s new report Cancer Nursing on the line which calls on all nations of the UK to have a comprehensive package of training and investment in place to ensure that the next generation of cancer nurses get the support they need.
“In Moray there are many patients and families who have benefitted from the fantastic service provided by Macmillan nurses. But as the NHS recovers from the ravages of the Covid pandemic, there is a need to ensure that we can continue to provide people here with the support and advice that Macmillan nurses provide.
“The event in Parliament allowed me to show support and solidarity with the specialist nurses who do so much to help the growing numbers who are living with cancer.
“Residents of Moray deserve to get the very best possible cancer services, should they ever need them, and I call on the Scottish Government to introduce the comprehensive training and investment now, so that we can have the reassurance that the work of the amazing Macmillan Cancer Support nurses continues now and in the future.”
