Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed the news that work will start next week to replace road markings that were removed from Tolbooth Street in Forres when resurfacing was recently carried out there.
Commenting, Douglas said: “I wrote to the council after being contacted by a number of businesses who were frustrated that yellow lines had not been replaced following resurfacing works on the street.
“I’m glad that the council have now given reassurances that the double yellow lines will be reinstated with work due to start next week.
“The council have accepted this should have happened much sooner after the re-surfacing was completed but the work was delayed due to a combination of factors from weather conditions to breakdown of both lining boilers as well as problems in getting the yellow thermoplastic paint.
“The council have now confirmed to me that works to reinstate the double yellow lines in the area of the Tolbooth are programmed for the week commencing 23rd August.
“I’m sure businesses will be glad to see them put back in place as I know there has been significant disruption recently.”
