Moray MP Douglas Ross says he was “delighted” to meet with the team at Poppy Scotland in the Scottish Parliament this week.
The charity held an exhibition stand at Holyrood where Douglas chatted with members of their team to find out more about the work they do to support veterans and current serving members of the Armed Forces across Scotland.
Douglas – who represents a constituency with a major military presence at RAF Lossiemouth and at Kinloss Barracks – praised the charity for their “outstanding” commitment to supporting the Armed Forces.
He also took part in a photocall with the charity alongside other MSPs, straight after First Ministers Questions.
Douglas added that he has always been proud to support Poppy Scotland’s appeal each year and welcomed the opportunity to learn about their plastic-free poppy which will be released later this year in the run-up to Remembrance Day.
Moray MP Douglas Ross said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet with Poppy Scotland in the Scottish Parliament this week.
“It is always great to discuss the support they provide to veterans and serving members of our Armed Forces with their team and this was no different.
“With the military having such importance to us here in Moray with the bases at Lossiemouth and Kinloss, I am always proud to support the excellent work that Poppy Scotland carry out all year round in Moray and right across Scotland.
“It was particularly interesting to find out more about the plastic-free poppies that they will be releasing ahead of their annual appeal.
“Poppy Scotland and everyone involved continue to showcase an outstanding commitment to our veterans and armed forces and I look forward to meeting them again very soon.”
