As we look ahead to 2023, it is hard not to think about how far Moray and all of us who live and work in this region have come over the last twelve months.
After two years of suffering the pain of the pandemic, people across Moray will be celebrating tonight with family and friends, just like they were used to.
Of course, not everyone in Moray will have the opportunity to celebrate as the bells ring in the New Year. There will be a whole host of people working tirelessly to keep our communities safe and moving as we head into 2023.
I want to thank every single one of them for their work not just tonight but throughout the whole year.
We are currently facing tough times with the global cost-of-living crisis, and I know many will not be feeling positive as the clock strikes midnight.
Rising bills are presenting many challenges, but I know that the community spirit we have in Moray here will be of support to so many people.
I fully believe that this area can continue to meet the challenges they face and strive in 2023 and beyond.
My office in Forres is always available to help anyone with any issue they wish to raise with me.
I wish everyone across Moray a very happy New Year and every best wish for the year ahead.
