Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed a commitment by NHS Grampian to ensure there will be regular access to Covid-19 tests for people in Moray via use of a mobile unit.
Commenting, Douglas said: “I’m delighted that NHS Grampian has listened to the concerns of local people here in Moray about this and I’m pleased that the mobile unit will be in the area every other day, alternating with Peterhead.
“This is something I have been highlighting after members of the public contacted us in their droves to ask how they were supposed to get tests in accordance with Government advice should they have symptoms, given the nearest centres were at Inverness or Aberdeen.
“That is quite some distance to travel and has presented difficulties for parents needing to get a test for a child.
“Having a mobile testing unit in place is a good way forward and also offers NHS Grampian some flexibility. I’m pleased that a solution has been found.”
