Moray MP Douglas Ross, has highlighted his concern that there may be job losses at the Kura, Call Centre, Forres, after the company lost a contract they had held with Scottish Power to CAPITA.
Douglas said “The loss of this crucial contract is deeply concerning news for the workforce in Forres. This number of jobs means much more in a community like Forres and every avenue must explored to protect them.
“I urge CAPITA to reassure staff who will understandably be anxious about potentially losing their jobs, as quickly as possible. This news couldn’t have come at a worse possible time for the employees who are already feeling the effects of an ever increasing cost-of-living crisis.
“Losing these jobs would be a bitter blow to those concerned and their families, as well as the wider local economy. I am committed to working closely with CAPITA if they are taking over this contract to safeguard those currently working at the call centre and have made contact with them to ascertain what we can do to protect the jobs.”
